Circle of Influence:
Part 3 -Building a Circle That Builds You

Kingdom-Centric Connections

I hope everyone had a good Independence Day weekend! Nothing like some grilling and family or friend time.

As we are about to embark on another week filled with meetings and challenges ... I wanted to take a moment and send out something that might benefit you.

We are in the third installment of what I am calling Circle of Influence.

This week, we are focusing on connections. Specifically, Kingdom ones.

Once you recognize what needs to shift in your current circle, the question becomes: how do I build one that lifts me up?

You don’t just stumble into the right community. You build it. You pray for it. You invest in it. You really put your time and energy in it.
And most importantly—you become the kind of person you want to attract.

Kingdom connections are different
They don’t just make you feel good—they make you grow.
They don’t just celebrate your wins—they stick with you in the middle of the spiritual war zone.

You need people who:

  • Challenge your blind spots with love.
  • Remind you who God said you are.
  • Stir up your faith when you’re too weary to believe for yourself.

And guess what? They need you, too.

See it's not a one-sided relationship.

Be the one who speaks life. Be the encourager. Be the one who covers your friends in prayer instead of comparison. Build others the way you wish someone would have built you. For some this isn't a natural thing. Perhaps you are more of an introvert. I get it. I consider myself an "extroverted introvert". (we will get into this more in coming months) :)

So what can you do starting right away?

Practical steps to build your circle:

  • Pray specifically for aligned, mission-minded connections.
  • Join small groups, mastermind circles, or serve teams where purpose-driven people gather.
  • Pursue mentorship and offer it to others.

The right circle is worth fighting for. Because when you’re surrounded by people who walk in step with God, their faith strengthens your foundation. Consequently, you strengthen theirs.

Share this post with a friend or colleague. Keep winning this week. Even on those difficult days.

Happy to serve,

DG
